Known history since it was first ordered in Greece

It was in Geneva, in March 1953, that it all really began for the TR dynasty. First of its kind to know the highest stage of production, the said TR2 has initiated a « recipe » (today we would rather speak of a « concept ») by replicating « ingredients » that have been privileged for ages by other English manufacturers: a sturdy chassis capable of withstanding racket blows with phlegm, a powerful engine borrowed from the great series (the TR2’s engine had already proven itself under the hood of the ugly Standard Vanguard and of the less ugly Triumph Renown, not to mention the Massey Ferguson tractor), rustic but generally efficient suspension systems that make you feel the road (without leaving it, as much as possible…), all dressed with a suggestive bodywork and just « open » enough to encourage the show-offs to jump in without opening the door.

Produced from August 1953 till September 1955, the TR2 lasted only as long as good intentions last. Nevertheless, 8628 amateurs, almost all Americans, were able to discover its uncovered and hidden charms. However, even in such a short period of time, the TR2 didn’t stand still. Barely launched, it was able to make people talk about itself by roaming the great rallies of that time and demonstrating that a « real » sports car could also be cheap. This is its strongest point, which will also be the advantage of all future TRs.

This is an exceptional car that was delivered to the private yacht captain Mr. Konstantine Tsallis in Greece in May 1955. He kept the car for 30 years before selling it to a well-known rally driver Demetris Vazakis.

Its entire history can be traced back to its original invoice. We bought it in 2017.
