Porsche 911 – 1965

Characteristics

Chassis no. 301017

Matching number with cardex Porsche

Flat 6 2.0L 130cv

Rare 911 1965  original silver grey

This one specific Porsche is a witness of the very first version of a car which since became mythical : the Porsche 911. Designed to follow up the 356 series, this car model was going to secure for itself a real worldwide success, out of which the descendant samples are to-day, in turn, still well present on the motorcar scene.

This bodywork, with identification number 301017, makes it one of the very scarce first produced  units, which were manufactured during 1965.

Delivered in its new state in Germany, this car has been driven in Belgium for more than ten years. It just shortly did undergo a complete restoration, including at the levels of the bodywork, the various mechanical elements and the interior saddlery hardness outfits.

More than ten years ago, the bodywork which is very sound and still in a very good overall state, had been undergoing a first sand-blast treatment. It now just got completely reworked in its original colour, metallic grey.

It is to be remarked that in 1965, only 13 samples of the Porsche 911 are said to have been produced in that very colour, which at the beginning was derived from the 356 series range.

The bodywork of the car in question still shows its original production numbers, which appear both on the doors and on the engine bonnet.

As to what relates to the original engine, it also underwent a complete restoration, starting from the crank-shaft up to all the other engine elements and is equipped with its Solex carburettors, they themselves equally revised at a high cost.

The interior cockpit still possesses its wooden steering-wheel (now replaced by a sport lether steeringwheel) , and its original dashboard design, the whole witnessing of the discreet and particular charm of the 1960’s.
