 Introduced in 1969, the Ford Capri was designed to replicate the success of the Mustang in Europe. At the end of a decade during which Ford marked the history of motor sport with its multiple victories, the marketing strategy of the brand with the blue oval was inevitably driven by the racetracks.Very quickly approved for competition, the Capri did not break this rule. Rapidly establishing itself both on and off the racetrack, it underwent various transformations in response to the different regulations of the time. In its RS2600 configuration, the car had an undeniable success, winning the 24 hours of Spa in 1971 and the 24 hours of Le Mans in 1972. Many famous drivers have driven this car. This Capri was assembled by the renowned English specialist, Ric Wood, to maximise the preparation of this car in accordance with the FIA specifications for this evolution.
