Considered to be BMW’s first M version, the 3.0 CSL is a 200kg lighter version of the 3.0 CS coupé that was presented at the 1971 Geneva Motor Show. Developed by the brand new racing division, BMW Motorsport, under the direction of former race car driver Jochen Neerpasch, it targets the European Touring Car Championship. The BMW 3.0 CSL is definitely a car designed for racing.We have seen this car a lot, notably at the 24 hours of Spa with Luigi Cimarosti, the wizard, as well as in Le Mans.This BMW 3L CSL was assembled by the famous Alex Elliott in England in 2010 (the specialist of the BMW 3L CSL)It comes with an up-to-date Historic Technical Passport (HTP).
It has a 3.5L 12-valve engine – Gr2
The car performs very well and is excellent for racing, even in the rain.
(for example: at the Grand Prix de l’âge d’Or – race of Dijon, the car achieved the 4th best lap time and finished 2nd in the general ranking)
During the 1975 edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Hervé Poulain succeeded in combining his two passions, art and cars, at the same event. Through his perseverance, the first « ArtCar » was born. Painted by Alexander Sandy Calder, this first « ArtCar » was the starting point of a tradition that continues to this day.As a matter of fact, this BMW was recently decorated in this spirit by the French artist Cintract.The car competes in the Peter Auto championship, in the category Heritage Touring Cup.
